Rider Extras

I got started into bike racing in '97 because I had gotten divorced and couldn't afford to race cars anymore.

I still have my '68 Camaro which ran a best of 10:89 @ 123 mph with a mild 350 and a shot of nitrous. Yanking the front tires off the ground and setting you back in the seat was a great feeling. I've had a '55 Chevy Pickup, a '64 Impala (the best car I ever had), and a '71 Caprice that I took the engine out of and rebuilt, and is waiting to be put into the Camaro. Old cars and Hot Rods will always be my first love. Ummm... second love. If my wife saw this and she wasn't first, I'd hear about it forever!!! But the smell of Nitro in the plumes of unburned fuel when a top fuel funny car starts up, it makes your eyes water and nose burn, Mmm.... I love it.

I first started out with mtn bike racing and after a few years when the roady/mtn bikers were passing me in the open areas I knew I had to start road riding too. They had me in the open areas but I passed them at all the log jumps and it was a fight to the finish! Mtn biking fizzled out locally, and I started road bike racing.  I had some good finishes early in road racing, but have found it to be VERY challenging as I've gotten older.
